Uninsured Loss Recovery

11 February 2008, 08:47pm

Cheap Girls Car InsuranceWe’d love everyone to take out a policy with Young Lady Driver but the fact is motor insurance is very competitive and although our car premiums are often the best (especially for Third Party Fire & Theft cover) it’s a fact that there are a lot of other insurers in the market.

But whoever you select to provide the main policy, you should always get the Uninsured Loss Recovery service added as part of the overall package.

Failing to do this could be an expensive mistake, read on to find out why…

Usually younger drivers go for policies with higher voluntary excesses to keep the premium costs down. Not many people realise that even if an accident is not their fault they may have to pay the excesses and then recover them – this can be a lot of money unexpectedly!

Most people don’t realise that in the event of an accident where there’s a claim, certain costs have to be paid directly by the involved parties - even though the insurance companies will sort the rest out. These costs include the “excesses – compulsory and voluntary” and also there may be incidental costs resulting directly from the accident – the cost of taxis, hire cars, medical expenses, loss of income from time off work you have to pay or incur these costs even if it’s not your fault

The law in the UK allows for a non-fault party to make a claim against another person who is believed to have caused an accident. If one party admits guilt it may seem straightforward but actually there’s always a chance they may change their mind and later deny causing an accident.

So if you’re the victim of an accident that’s not your fault you can claim your excess costs back from the guilty party. Sounds straightforward until you realise this may mean going to court….and with no guarantee of winning outright.

Ultimately, it’s normal for claims to recover these “uninsured losses” to be settled through a legal process which whilst as simple as possible, is still an ordeal for most people who have no experience of the legal system and formal hearings.

You can be sure that the defending insurance company will have legal representation so unless you’re a lawyer yourself you will be at a disadvantage and may not get the outcome you expect.

To be sure of the best possible outcome and to have a chance of recovering most if not all uninsured losses, expert third party assistance is essential. This may even include professional legal representation.

Young Lady Driver is able to provide an ideal solution for this dilemma - the Claims Recovery Service (CRS). This excellent scheme will help non-fault parties recover their uninsured losses and can even provide a Replacement Vehicle if appropriate. Also, CRS can help you get the best settlement value for your car in the event of a write-off through providing a pre-accident value.

Ask us for more information about Uninsured Loss Recovery – if the name of it sounds like a mouthful it’s a lot harder to swallow the cost of bearing the uninsured losses – especially when its not your fault!
